The 150 Mile House Fire Department is seeking motivated and able-bodied individuals who wish to better serve their community.

What do you need to become a Volunteer Fire Fighter?

1.   Compassion: First and foremost we deal with helping people. Fire Fighters must be honest, caring, reliable individuals with a desire to help others.

2.   Commitment: Emergencies happen 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Fire Fighters are expected to respond to emergencies whenever available.

3.   Time: Fire Fighters are to attend weekly practices on Monday nights, and to attend emergency page outs whenever available.

4.   Good Health: Fire Fighting is a strenuous job, both mentally and physically. A physical test and/or a doctor's note will be required.

5.   Police Record Check: You will need to obtain a police record check, with no offensives pertaining to the job of a Paid on Call Fire Fighter.

6.   Driver License: Class 5 or better with a driver’s abstract will be required with application.

  • First Responder Paramedic III

  • CPR Level C

  • Auto External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Spinal Immobilization

  • Emergency Driver Training

  • Air Brake endorsement

  • Live Fire

  • Hazardous Materials

  • NFPA 1001 - Level 1 & 2

Becoming a firefighter requires compassion, courage, critical thinking, mental and physical fitness, as well as the ability to take direction and work as part of a team.

If you are interested in joining our department, stop by on a Monday practice night to pick up an application form and introduce yourself. We also have an annual Public Practice Night each year where community members can meet us and see what we are all about.
